Licensing Terms

1. License Structure

Subscription products (the BotSurgeon Pro tiers) use a hybrid licensing model combining:

• License Key: Unique identifier in the format BSPRO-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX tied to your account and subscription tier
• Server Fingerprint: IP address and hostname hash binding the license to a specific server
• Heartbeat Verification: Daily check-in to license.steadfasttools.com/verify for compliance

One-time perpetual products (the Steadfast toolkits) work differently and are covered in section 7.

3. Activation & Server Binding

Upon installation, the software records a server fingerprint (IP address + hostname hash) and binds it to your license key. Each license key can be activated on the number of servers allowed by your tier. Server changes are permitted within your tier's limits via the client dashboard.

4. License Verification

Licensed software performs a daily verification call to our licensing server. If verification fails for 7 consecutive days (e.g., server offline), the software enters a grace period. After 14 days of failed verification, some features may be restricted until connectivity is restored.

5. Transferability

Licenses are non-transferable between accounts. You may reassign a license to a different server within your tier's activation limits via the client dashboard. Server migrations (same IP) do not require reactivation.

6. Gold Founder Lifetime License

The Gold Founder lifetime license grants unlimited server activations for the lifetime of the product. "Lifetime" means the active development and support period of the product (minimum 5 years from purchase). Lifetime licenses include all minor and major version updates within the product line.

7. One-Time Perpetual Toolkit Licenses

The Steadfast toolkits — currently the Steadfast DNS Toolkit and the Steadfast MySQL Toolkit, individually or as a bundle — are sold as a single one-time purchase rather than a subscription. They are source-available: you receive the full source and may read and modify every line.

• Perpetual. The license does not expire and there is nothing to renew.
• Unlimited servers within your own organisation. There is no per-server or per-account billing, and no activation limit.
• No phone-home. These tools contain no license key check, no server fingerprinting and no heartbeat verification. Sections 1, 3, 4 and 5 do not apply to them.
• Modify freely for your own internal use, including changes you never share with us.
• Not for redistribution or resale. You may not publish, sublicense, sell or otherwise distribute the toolkit or any derivative of it to third parties, whether or not for a fee.
• Updates. All v1.x releases of a purchased toolkit are included.
• No warranty. The software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind.

Third-party components bundled with a toolkit remain under their own licenses; see the NOTICE file included in the download for the full list and attributions.

ZoneVitals is not part of this section. It is released separately under the MIT License and is covered by section 8.

8. Free Tools

Free tools (BotSurgeon Basic, MySQL Auto-Tuner Ultimate, ZoneVitals, etc.) are provided under permissive licenses. No license key or server verification is required. Refer to each tool's LICENSE or README file for specific terms.

9. Termination & Revocation

We reserve the right to revoke licenses in cases of:

• Violation of the Terms of Service
• License key sharing or circumvention of server fingerprinting
• Non-payment of subscription fees
• Use of the software for illegal purposes
